Her multi-cultural style of music stems from being half Nigerian and half American. Singer and songwriter Janelia sings Afropop and Reggae music with soulful vocal techniques which she playfully calls “JaneliaSoul”. Growing up in Nigeria, Janelia learned the local dialects; she is bilingual and enjoys writing and singing in English, Yoruba and Pidgin. Her most recent album “I’m An African” released in 2008 earned her a celebrated spot in the underground and independent music scene in the United States. However, Janelia took her music to the next level when she returned to her roots. She relocated to Lagos, Nigeria from December 2013 to December 2014 to record and promote 2 Afro-Pop singles titled “Sexy Nana” and “Bakassi”. These two new singles are sweeping the airwaves across Nigeria and the African Diaspora at large. While in Nigeria, Janelia performed at several notable venues which include University of Lagos (Unilag) and the prestigious Quilox Lounge in Victoria Island to name a few.

Janelia releases stunning visuals to one of her electrifying live performances; here she performs “Sexy Nana” live. The musical performance video features her Afro-Pop/Reggae band known as “Janeliasoul”. The band consists of 8 musicians; Femi Sanya, bass guitarist and music director of the band. Ponle Oyegbile on the keyboards, Maxwell Ogeleka on the drums, Kenny Adeola on the guitar, Emmanuel Onifade on the percussion, the dancer is Sarah Ekioba, Tomilade Omopeloye on backup vocals and Janelia the lead vocalist. Please find below a picture of Janelia, video files, YouTube link and more.
