With the success of the N.W.A. biopic film “Straight Outta Compton,” interest has been renewed about the sudden and untimely death of rapper Eric Wright, better known as “Eazy-E.” While curiosity about his death a little over two decades ago had waned some in recent years, many of his contemporaries have recently come forward with ideas about how his death was part of a larger scheme.

 

Considered to be the “idea man” behind N.W.A., the talk about trouble between Eazy and other important figures, such as Suge Knight, are not new. Seen in the video, one of Eazy’s protégés, rapper Kid Frost, explains his own beliefs about how and why Eazy passed away. Frost claims that rivals in the scene were motivated to infected Eazy with AIDS in order to get him out of the way. Citing interviews that Suge Knight has given over the past 15 years, Frost connects Knight to the death.

Is any of this based in fact? It’s likely that no one will ever know for sure.
