Wayne Rooney: I want to stay at Manchester United

Wayne Rooney: I want to stay at Manchester United

| On 04, Aug 2013

WAYNE ROONEY does NOT want to leave Man United – despite Chelsea preparing to offer £40million for the England striker this week.

Rooney at no time this summer asked United for a transfer and, I understand, is hurt by constant talk that he is determined to leave Old Trafford. He does not want to leave.

Rooney, 27, is fighting fit and it is understood he played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Spanish club Real Betis yesterday.

He is available for selection against AIK in Stockholm on Tuesday and again for Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial at Old Trafford against Seville on Friday.

The United fans’ reaction is NOT thought to be a major issue for Rooney who is ready to shrug off any ill-conceived shows of dissent.

Rooney has had nine highly successful years at Old Trafford wining every major honour and will carry on in his usual professional manner.
“The ball is in United’s and new boss David Moyes’ court with Rooney carrying on regardless of the huge speculation about his club future”
But Chelsea will storm back in this week with a double-your-money bid for the England international.

Jose Mourinho’s side have already tabled a £23m bid.

And now the Blues are ready, willing and able to raise that fee to around £40m in a determined bid to finally land their man. The ball is in United’s and new boss David Moyes’ court with Rooney carrying on regardless of the huge speculation about his club future.

Chelsea, though, are hoping that they can tempt him to Stamford Bridge and believe their increased bid will swing the deal in their favour.

There has also been talk of PSG and Monaco moving in to capture Rooney but a move abroad will not get off the ground.
