VIDEO : Suspected Pipeline Vandals Arrested By Army, NSCDC In Ogun

The fight against petroleum pipeline vandalization received a major boost in Ogun state, as 28 suspected pipeline vandals, including a middle aged woman were arrested with seven vehicles loaded with petroleum product in 363 fifty litres jerry can and two motor cycles by members of the Nigerian Army and the NSCDC.
The suspected vandals as members of the agencies through a tip off nabbed the suspected vandals along Ogere axis of Ikenne local government area of the state while vandalizing the NNPC pipeline serving the south west states of the country from Mosinmi depot.
Speaking on the incident, the two agencies called for more collaborative efforts among security agencies in the onerous task of reducing the menace to the barest minimum.
The vandals, in perfecting their act meticulously laid their hoses through the rough terrain of about 200 metres where the pipeline was located.
Speaking on the incident, the state commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) Akinwande Aboluwaye, said this was made possible as a result of collaborative efforts of security operatives, asking the local and pipeline host communities to always volunteer quality information that could lead to arrest of criminals in their midst.
Some of the suspects has however confessed to the crime but indicted some police officers for aiding and abetting crime.The suspects are expected to be arraigned in a competent court of jurisdiction.
