Taryor Gabriels On The Hotseat

Taryor Gabriels On The Hotseat

| On 31, Mar 2013

I had the good pleasure of spending some time with CEO of Taryor Gabriels recently and it was a great experience, here is what he had to say.

Who are you and where in the world are you primarily based and where are you located right now?

My Name is Adetayo Adeyeye, and I am a designer, clothier and bespoke suit maker for men and women and I am based in Surulere Lagos.

What do you do, how would you describe your presence in the industry, what’s your mission?

I am a clothier, tailoring and fashion tutor and designer and my mission above all things is to bring exquisite and fashionable suits and fashionable wear clothing to my clientèle.  I am also committed to improving and proliferating the image of home grown fashion across the industry.

I also run a school of tailoring and it has been encouraging to see many through to success and progress in the business.

How long have you been doing this?

I have been in the business for over a decade

Notable moments in your career?

Every day is notable, being clothier to many of the biggest names in the entertainment industry has been a high point of my career, anchoring several successful fashion shows and events and also being in a position to see myself as arguably one of the best bespoke suit makers in the country.

What’s the best and worst part of what you do?

The best part of this is the doing…I love to see my work put into use and also love the happiness and satisfaction of what I do…. The worst part would be the long hours spent crafting each suit and shirt and outfit as all my work is done by hand, we don’t use automation and sometimes the lack of time for social life.

A little about you?

My name is Adetayo Adeyeye, I am married and recently became proud dad to a beautiful baby girl,… I count that as God bringing two angels into my life, my wife and daughter.

When I started out doing this, I was not sure if I would be well recieved, so many people are used to going abroad to by bespoke or designer suits, so developing the label was fun and I am proud I am a Nigerian suitmaker.

I am relatively reserved and enjoy creativity.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years

Continuing to inspire, retain uniqueness and creativity and also continuing to enjoy the good grace of God, going from strength to strength and improving and much bigger and better.

What do you do for relaxing/fun/chilling out?

I love gospel music, I enjoy relaxing with my family and going out sometimes.

What advice do you have for others inspired by you?

Simplicity, Uniqueness, Flair and Advantage are all easy to bray about, the truth is it takes hard work and devotion, dedication and concentration to get where you want to be and even then a lot more to acquire contentment and continue to believe in the grace of God, so what I would say is keep on keeping, stay focussed and be strong,…

Message for your fans, haters,critics

Fans, Critics, Haters,…well….I have too much fun and happiness coming in from my work and famliy, i don’t notice the critics and haters and when I am feeling that the heat is rising it spurs me on so I suppose thats my reaction to hate and criticism…I keep everyone in prayer and for my fans…you are what has made me… I thank you and those who criticise and hate too…you keep me going.
