A year after record label boss eLDee da Don announced the new formation of his new Da Trybe Records, popular producer and sound engineer Ademoye Oluseyi better known as Sheyman has left the clique and parted with the label.

eLDee in February 2012, unveiled a new set of artistes - pop act K9, R&B singer Sojay with music producers Sarz and Sheyman, tagging them Da Trybe 2.0, a revamped squad replacing the original Da Trybe which disbanded many years ago. eLDee also added to the label alternative singer Aramide, female rapper Eva and US returnee Rukus.

Five months after signing to Trybe, Eva and label agreed to dissolve her contract due to multiple differences.

NET recently discovered Sheyman is no longer with the label and we’ve just gotten confirmation from a rep for the singer-producer. ‘Sheyman is in a meeting now. He’s on his own now, doing his thing‘, Sheyman’s PA Damilola told our reporter in a telephone conversation.

The PA added that the producer now has his own production outfit called Phat Base Entertainment. Sheyman’s Twitter page corresponds with his PA’s story as his profile links to a website Phatbase.com which is currently under construction.

Trybe Records is yet to respond to our questions on the split but they’ve already taken Sheyman’s profile off the label’s official website. A cached version (view below) however gives us an idea of how the page looked before it was deleted.

Sheyman who is also known for his sound engineering skills (he mixed and mastered Iyanya’s ‘Kukere‘) has been in the music scene for a while. In 2008, he released his debut album ‘Hotter than fire’ under his then Baseline Records and then dropped a follow up ‘King of Melody’ in 2009.

He was announced to have been working on his third album ‘From Zero to Hero’ while with Da Trybe’.

Under Trybe Records, he released the hit song ‘Celebrate’ with the video shot in South Africa.

Those who have been in the industry for a minute will also remember Sheyman was signed on Kwame’s label Strictly Next Level records, alongside Bouqui and Chichi.
