9ja’s much-loved music talent show – Nigerian Idol – is back!

Now in its 4th season, the Nigerian Idol series is where tomorrow’s music stars are made. In Season 1, Nigerians discovered Yeka Onka who has since released 2 singles and is set to capture the music scene with her strong vocals and catchy beats.

Season 2 produced Mercy Chinwo who has written and produced some songs and is currently working with legendary music producer D’Tunes on her debut album.

In Season 3, Moses Adigwe – nicknamed ‘Teddy Bear’ – emerged as the first-ever male winner of Nigerian Idol and has since then released 2 singles and is also currently working on his album.

 Season 4 Auditions & Prizes

 Auditions for Nigerian Idol Season 4 are scheduled as follows:

  • In Benin on Saturday 25 January 2014
  • In Port Harcourt on Saturday 1 February 2014
  • In Calabar on Saturday 8 February 2014
  • In Makurdi on Saturday 15 February 2014
  • In Lagos on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 February 2014

The audition dates and venue are stated below.

TV broadcast commences on Saturday 1 March 2014, and the grand finale takes place in June 2014.

The winner of Nigerian Idol Season 4 will sing and perform their way to $100, 000 in cash, a recording contract and a brand-new SUV.

Great prizes will also be won by the 1st and 2nd runners up, as well as by the 4th to 10th placed contestants!

In this year’s competition, hopefuls who are unable to attend the auditions physically can take part by sending their videos via YouTube!

How to participate

To enter for the auditions, interested contestants must:

  1. Get an Etisalat line (if they are not already subscribers), and
  2. Send their preferred audition venue (Benin, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Makurdi or Lagos) followed by their name and surname to 5599 (this service costs N50 only).
