Angel Amienyi, a Sergeant in the Nigerian Army has released her first gospel CD titled The Glory of the Lord Is Here.

The album, which was officially presented and launched at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Zonal Headquarters, Province 13, Ketu, Lagos, is a body of work heavy on R&B.

“I am indeed humbled and pleased that the Lord has chosen to bring me out at a time like this when our country and the world at large are going through tough challenges: marriages in tatters, economic meltdown, health and emotional challenges among others.

“I believe that God will lift Nigeria and all of us to a place where we belong and His glory will be seen in us throughout the world through this music,” said the soldier, born into a family of singers,” she said.

Angel, married to Pastor Felix Amienyi, said she is excited and humbled by the opportunity to use her kind of R&B music to touch lives and win them over to Christ.

She noted that she never thought she could pursue music as a career, after her father, Samuel Nwafor-Onovo, a disciplinarian, refused to allow her join the church choir while growing up.

She said she is thrilled by the response to her album so far.
