Label’s Lie

Label’s Lie

Labels Lie. Don’t accept them. Don’t use them

“When we judge, label, diminish and criticize each other, this becomes the fuel for shame and guilt to fester in our souls. A label says we are unworthy, flawed and unacceptable.”

“Like so many other labels, those born of bigotry are a lie.”

Labels are created out of fear and not reality.

If someone is shirking their responsibilities, don’t depend on a Label to remedy the situation.

“We’ve all thought it, and we’ve probably even said it before. But we also know better.”

“It is time to talk about shame and the toxic labels we believe about ourselves.”

“Labels lie in the way they characterize us. They strip our dignity and humanity. Labels dumb down the complexity of who we truly are.” Mike Foster via Relevant Magazine”It is time to talk about shame and the toxic labels we believe about ourselves.”

“We don’t have to live with the shame of what people have said about us. We don’t have to accept these statements as our true identity.”

This is bullying no matter what its source. It isn’t funny. It isn’t cute. It isn’t training and it isn’t discipline. It is terrorism and it must stop. “Supposedly we just move on and grow up and we live our lives and that’s that. But I’m not so sure.”

Labels Lie “Grace is the second chance that erases labels for others, and it’s the permission to move on that we give ourselves. And yet, grace is so scarce. It’s disappearing, and its disappearance is leaving an army of wounded “has-beens” and “screw-ups” in its wake.” – Mike Foster

These quotes have been culled from inspiring and touching write-ups and stories all focussed on the negativity associated with using labels and character assassination.
