The Buhari Volunteers, a group wholly in support of the candidacy of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has called to question themuch celebrated Transformation Agenda initiated by the Pres, Goodluck Jonathan administration promising accelerated development in all sectors of the Nigerian economy.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, January 28, The Buhari Volunteers questioned Jonathan’s achievements saying his government has been an “unmitigated disaster”.

“The country has been plagued by falling standards of living, an increase in poverty, a ballooning $50 billion debt figure, and unemployment at an all-time high. By all measurable standards, this administration has been an unmitigated disaster. So Nigerians needs to ask: Is this transformation?”

Nigeria has gone through an unprecedented economic boom. With oil prices hovering at an all-time high and oil revenues in the hundreds of billions of dollars since 2005, we elected Goodluck Jonathan as President of Nigeria. He came to us with a promise:

The Transformation Agenda.

Nigeria under his direction would be a global force to be reckoned with, the crown jewel in Africa’s rising star, he promised as part of his agenda.

Instead the country has been plagued by falling standards of living, an increase in poverty, a ballooning $50 billion debt figure, and unemployment at an all-time high. By all measurable standards, this administration has been an unmitigated disaster. So Nigerians needs to ask: Is this transformation?

A newspaper, digital media and video campaign addressing these issues has been released to raise these pressing questions as the country heads to the polls in just over two weeks to decide the fate of the nation.
