HEADIES 2013 NOMINEES’ LIST: RAPPERS, OLAMIDE AND PHYNO LEAD THE PACK
konknaijaboy | On 05, Dec 2013
The wait is over, The Headies 2013 are here.
Smooth promotions, organizers of Nigeria’s biggest and most prestigious awards, The Headies, have announced the nominees for the 2013 edition of the awards show.
Over the years, Nigeria’s music system has played down rappers, especially the ones who ply their trade in their mother tongue. That era has since ended, with Dagrin (of blessed memory), Olamide and Phyno as the teachers of that school, having relegated Lord of Ajasa.
As seen on the 2013 Headies nominees’ list, Olamide and Phyno are in the front row, while David and Iyanya follow closely.
Expectedly, Sean Tizzle’s Sho le makes the most famous and rewarding category, Next Rated. He’ll be slogging it out with Dammy Krane, Burna Boy, Seyi Shay, and Phyno.
Boxing day, December 26, 2013 will be the judge.
See the full list of nominees below (in text and video).

Random Vent/Comment by Konk Naija Music fans!!!
* Mode 9 and lyricist on the roll since i was in primary school? Ohh!! he dropped the HipTv gingle since way back abi.
* Why cant we have a female rap category abi Splash and co are not artists?
* Infact artist of the year without a lady on the list aint cool. Furthermore, D’Prince is too old in the industry to be ranked in the Revelation of the year. Revelation of the year should be for newcomers.
* Where is Patoranking whose got the dopest dancehall that burnt the clubs or Timaya? Rather we have Babadee. I understand………..they tried for Hip Hop WorldMag.
* I think we can do better next year cus this nomination list and category makes me think; do we really know our music? Anyway, good one at least we got a show in our hands.
