“Carrots kill harmful germs in the mouth and prevent tooth decay. It helps in the growth and development of bones; it is good for pregnant and lactating mothers,” Ahmadu said.

“Carrots relieve fatigue and give appetite, it relieves stress when taken as juice. It is good for smokers, because nicotine in cigarettes destroy all the supplies of vitamin C in the body. Daily consumption of carrots will also help in preventing gastric ulcer and digestive disorder.”

According to her, carrots help to prevent cancer of the breast and colon cancers as well as regulate sugar in the blood.

“Carrot is rich in antioxidant; it cleans the cells of toxins and impurities in the body” she said.

Carrot is a root vegetable, usually orange in colour, though purple, red, white, and yellow varieties exist. It has a crisp texture when fresh. The most commonly eaten part of a carrot is the taproot, although the greens are sometimes eaten as well.
