MTN Nigeria’s Human Right Violation Case at the ECOWAS Court Abuja adjourned till July 2, 2013

| On 17, Jun 2013

The information reaching us from the ECOWAS Court Of Justice Abuja Nigeria is that the Human Right Violation Case against MTN Nigeria has been adjourned till 2nd of July 2013.

Information has it that a formal communication dated June 12, 2013 was earlier sent to the Plaintiff and Defendants.

Our Crew was on ground today at the Venue of the hearing in Abuja when we received the information earlier today June 17, 2013 which was the original date of the hearing. We were unable to confirm further details from either MTN Nigeria’s Legal Department as there had been increased tension in both camps.

An unconfirmed information has it that MTN Nigeria is prepared to appear in Court which rules out any possibility of the South African Telecoms giants to influence the case. However, a reliable source from the ECOWAS Court stated clearly that the reason for adjournment was due to the fact that some of the sitting judges will not be available on June 17, 2013 so they have to reschedule the hearing date.
