Following the activities of fraudsters who impersonated members of the Majek Fashek rehabilitation fund raising committee the team has announced it has stopped seeking or receiving donations.

According to a statement from his former dancer and coordinator of the Save Majek Fashek Campaign, Monica Omorodion, the team has stopped receiving funds towards rehabilitating the celebrated music star.

Monica shared a post via her Facebook page as regards the development claiming popular billionaire Chief Ayiri Emami who earlier checked Majek into a rehab home in Abuja has decided to cater for the medical bills of Majek Fashek.

She wrote:

‘Please, effective from today, no one needs to send funds for rehabilitation of Majek. This a condition from Chief Ayiri. NO MORE FUNDRAISING’.

Recall Chief Ayiri Emami flew specialists into the country in a bid to put Majek Fashek in a proper shape following tales of wandering across different streets of Lagos.

Also, reports have it that Majek and his team are putting together a come-back tour for lovers of his music as soon as he is clarified fit by medical doctors in the rehab home. 

A press conference was held in Majek’s honour in Abuja few days ago where he admitted to his addiction to alcohol and drug abuse.
